திருகோணமலை நிலாவெளி பெரியகுளம் பகுதியில் நிர்மாணிக்கப்படவிருக்கும் பௌத்த விகாரையின் நிர்மாணப்பணிகளால் இனமுருகல்கள் ஏற்படும் என திருகோணமலை மாவட்டத்தை பிரதிநிதித்துவம்படுத்தும் பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் இரா.சம்பந்தன் மற்றும் சமூக ஆர்வலர்கள் கிழக்கு மாகாண ஆளுநர் கௌரவ செந்தில் தொண்டைமானுடைய கவனத்திற்கு கொண்டுவந்ததை அடுத்து நிர்மாணிக்க இருக்கும் விகாரையின் பணிகள் ஆளுநரின் உத்தரவின் பேரில் நிறுத்தப்பட்டன.

திருகோணமலை நிலாவெளி பெரியகுளம் பகுதியில் நிர்மாணிக்கவிருக்கும் பௌத்த விகாரையின் பணிகள் இடைநிறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ள நிலையில், இது குறித்து பல சர்ச்சைகள் இடம்பெற்று வருகின்றன. 

நிலாவெளி பெரியகுளம் பகுதியில் வசிக்கும் குடும்பங்களில் 500 இற்கும் மேற்பட்ட தமிழ் குடும்பங்களும் 02 சிங்கள குடும்பங்களும் வசித்து வருகின்றன. அங்கு வாழும் தமிழ் மக்கள் இவ்விகாரை நிர்மாண பணிகள் ஆரம்பிக்க இருப்பதை நிறுத்துமாறு கோரிஎதிர்ப்பு ஆர்ப்பாட்டங்களை முன்னெடுத்து வந்தனர். 

இந்நிலையில் விகாரை நிர்மாணப்பணி தொடருமாக இருந்தால் இப்பிரதேசத்தில் பாரியதோர் இனமுருகல் ஏற்படும். ஆகையினால், கிழக்கு மாகாணத்தில் அனைத்து இன மக்களின் நலன்களை பேணும் ஆளுநர் என்ற அடிப்படையில் இனங்களுக்கிடையில் இனமுருகல் ஏற்படாமல் இருப்பதை உறுதி செய்யும் முகமாக ஆரம்பிக்க இருக்கும் குறித்த விகாரையின் நிர்மாணப்பணிகளை உடனடியாக நிறுத்துமாறு ஆளுநர் பணிப்புரை விடுத்துள்ளார்.

Governor after the member of parliament representing Trincomalee district R. Sambandhan and some social activists brought it to the attention of the Governor of Eastern Province Honorable Senthil Thondaman, as it will initiate conflicts among the Ethnic groups.

There are many controversies going on regarding the suspension of the construction of the Buddhist temple in Periyakulam area of ​​Trincomalee-Nilaveli.

More than 500 Tamil families and 02 Sinhalese families are living in Nilaveli Periyakulam area. The Tamil people living there had been leading protests demanding that the construction work of the temple to be stopped.

In this case, if the construction of this temple is being initiated , there will be a massive conflict among the ethnic groups in this area. Therefore, on the basis of being at the Position of Governor who protects the welfare of all the ethnic people of the Eastern Province, Hon.Governor have instructed to stop the construction work immediately of this particular Buddhist Temple, in order to ensure that there is no chance to occur any ethnic conflict between the ethnic groups.
